Meet the Artist

Melissa “Mo” Lashbrook is an artist living in central Arkansas who works in a variety of media including cyanotype, fiber, and sculpture. She has exhibited widely throughout the state of Arkansas. In 2018 Mo was awarded an Artist INC fellowship by the Argenta Arts Foundation. In 2022 she won a purchase award in the 35th Small Works on Paper Juried Exhibition and her work will travel to nine locations across the state.

Born in Arkansas, Mo spent her childhood between the Mississippi Delta and Plummerville Bottoms. She received a BA in fine art and MA in teaching from the University of Central Arkansas. Mo had careers in both the military and public education before making the leap to full-time artist and hobby farmer.

Her work is part of the Arkansas Arts Council’s permanent collection and is also in many private collections throughout her home state. More of her art can be found at South Main Creative in Little Rock, AR.
